Why is there castle on the stamp?

Lutsk is closely connected to a fortress because one of its main landmarks is Lubart’s Castle (also called Lutsk Castle), a well-preserved medieval fortress from the 14th century. It served as the residence of Lithuanian Grand Duke Lubart and was a political, defensive, and cultural center of Volyn region. Today, Lutsk Castle is one of the largest and best-preserved castles in Ukraine, and it's a monument of national historical and architectural significance, and a symbol of Lutsk.
